Yeo Valley: ‘Autumn’
In association with Director of Photography, Luke Barnett
Brief
To produce four short films to show what happens on the Yeo Valley farm across the year. The purpose of the films is to bring a slice of Somerset to London – they’ll be shown in the new Yeo Valley restaurant opening up in London this year, as well as on the Internet.
Approach
Focus Pocus’s Molly Fry, joined forces with Director of Photography, Luke Barnett to produce these four films. Commissioned directly from company owner, Sarah Mead, the films needed to reflect Yeo Valley’s brand values: family, ‘we don’t take ourselves too seriously’, ‘keeping it real’ and quirky with a sense of humour. Stories that represent the breadth of activities on the farm, featuring the characters who work there and the farm animals, were filmed together with gorgeous scenics and wildlife to give a sense of place. Carefully selected music and editing techniques add subtle quirkiness and on-screen words add an element of humour to the narrative. Each film has been carefully designed to have its own tone that reflects the season so together, they form a snapshot of the Yeo Valley farm over a year. They were a joy to make.
